Do you want to:

   Make patterns from existing garments?

   Draft projects from scratch, manipulate a pattern, , or follow a pre printed pattern ? 


This class will share how each is done, and help you decide 


Skills covered:

   Design process: planning, deconstructing, reconstructing, and finishing a project 

   Fabric combinations: what works, what doesn’t, and why

   Cutting techniques: “harvesting “ fabric for projects, pattern layout   

   Working with buttons, buttonholes and zippers 


Projects:

   Session 1:

August 31 September 7, 14, 21

   Skirts/shorts from pants

Upcycled t-shirts


   Session 2:

October 5, 12, 19, 26

   Color block sweatshirts

mini projects


   Session 3:

November 2, 9, 16, 30

   Patchwork fabric shirts

   mini projects


Requirements: Completion of Intermediate C sewing level or equivalent (ability to demonstrate competent use of sewing machine. Please note under Sewing Experience.)
