Who We Are & What We Do
Located in the heart of downtown Redding’s newly designated Cultural District, The Redding Fashion Alliance is a 501c3 non-profit organization offering a creative maker space for local textile and fashion designers as well as classroom space/equipment for instruction and creative workshops. The North State is rich in talent when it comes to creators in the textile arts.
Our mission is to amplify their voices by helping them create sustainable small businesses. We are committed to fostering projects with a focus on Slow Fashion, Sustainability and Circular Design.
Programs include:
Low cost access to maker space
Beginning through advanced sewing and fashion design instruction
Workshops and networking events
Promotional opportunities for local makers and designers
Collaborative programs with other local nonprofits that serve populations with a compromised socioeconomic status
Workforce development for industry employment
Executive Director
Abigail Young of A.J. Young Designs
RFA is very excited about Abigail Young joining us as our Executive Director. She first came to us as an Emerging Designer six years ago. Since then, she has refined her craft via professional experiences and returned as an extremely competent and visionary business woman. Nobody explains her path better than she. Enjoy the video.

Co-Founders
Redding Fashion Alliance was founded in 2015 by Jan Kearns, Robin Fator and Rachel Hatch. We started by answering the question: “What if Redding had a bustling fashion industry?” What started as an idea is now a fully functional non-profit organization. We believe that we can change and improve the quality of life in our community by fostering its creative economy, increasing living wage jobs, and providing designer guidance for high quality, small batch manufacturing of apparel, accessories and textile based products.
