Summer Sewing Camps 2024
Start by mastering your machine, learning sewing lingo, and following instructions.
Begin with easy projects like drawstring bags, then advance to aprons and tote bags. Let's get stitching!
All camps take place at Redding School of the Arts, 955 Inspiration Way, Redding, CA

Week 1: June 17-20 $145 pr session
Ages 7 - 15
A partnership with the City of Redding Parks and Recreation
Morning Session: 9AM-noon
Make A Summer Wardrobe
$145
Get your summer wardrobe started. Come join us to make your chosen beach outfit. You can choose between a bucket hat, a pair of “jammer” shorts, or a swimsuit coverup, which you can make as a hoodie if you want.
Basic knowledge of using a sewing machine required.
Machines, threads, tools provided. Student brings fabrics. Supply list will be provided.

Afternoon Session: 1PM-4PM
Make A Crossbody Bag and More!
$145
Need the perfect everyday bag? A great Crossbody Bag is a must.
Skills Learned:
- Operate the sewing machine
- Understand sewing terms
- Cut out simple pattern
- Follow sewing instructions to create a project
- Insert a zipper
Additional projects TBD by teacher based on student skills and desires.

Need the perfect everyday bag? A great Crossbody Bag is a must.

Designing and making your own stuffed toy is a fun project and a great way to practice basic sewing skills.
Skills learned:
- Operate the sewing machine
- Understand sewing terms
- Follow sewing instructions to create projects

- Hand sew a seam
- Cut out simple pattern
No sewing experience required.
Machines, threads, tools and fabrics provided. Student brings poly fill and personal fabric (if desired.)

There’s nothing like a versatile Hooded Vest! Such a cool accessory to any outfit.

Every wardrobe needs a practical pair of shorts or breezy summer dress. In this class, you will learn how to make your own!

Upcycled Jeans Projects
$145
Learn to make something new from old by up-cycling. Turn a pair of pants into a tote bag. Make a fabric planter for your favorite house plant. Then, pick from an assortment of fun small crafts.

POLICIES
- All sales are final.
- Any change in sewing class dates must be made with Redding Fashion Alliance administration by contacting us at info@reddingfashionalliance.org 48 hours prior to first class start date.
- A liability waiver and emergency contact must be signed prior to you or your child participating in class.
- We require parents/guardians to sign their child in and out of each class.
- If your child is 16 or older they may sign themselves in and out of class with parent permission.
- Parents are allowed to accompany their child if they choose.
- We provide tools for all students.
- Please do not drop off your child more than 15 minutes early and picked up promptly at the end time of each class.
- Please let us know if your child is registered for two sessions on the same day and proved them with a lunch.
- If your child has any special needs or allergies please let us know prior to the start of class.
- If your child is dismissed from class for behavioral issues no refunds will be provided.
